Scope
Work Group 14 Long Term and Post Acute Care (LTPAC), in conjunction with the other work groups, guides and advises payers, processors, and providers of the long-term care industry and institutional pharmacy programs and their agents on standards implementation and supports data processing initiatives.
Goals
- Promote NCPDP membership, attendance and active participation in work group and task group meetings.
- Based on regulatory initiatives, work with the industry to develop solutions via NCPDP Standards or other Standards Development Organization (SDO) maintained standards, e.g., Health Level Seven International (HL7®) Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) and HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resouces (FHIR).
- Provide a forum to enhance and clarify current standards based on business needs specific to the LTPAC industry including but not limited to Telecommunication, SCRIPT and Specialized. Identify necessary stakeholders to provide insight into industry direction and lead discussion to ensure fields and values are created and in place for the next versions.
- Collaborate with other NCPDP work groups and committees as appropriate.
- Collaborate with and educate other industry organizations regarding LTPAC standardization issues.
- Participate in SDO activities as they affect WG14.
- Monitor WG14 task groups to ensure they are tracking scope, goals and deliverables. Disband task groups that have completed their work.
- Support the MC Maintenance and Control Education, Legislation and Regulations Task Group when legislation or regulations regarding issues relevant to the work groups are available for comment or best practice guidance.
- Review Data Element Request Forms (DERFs) and adjudicate ballots pertaining to standards for which this work group has an interest.
- Analyze, develop and execute webinar opportunities for WG14 in coordination with Education Programs staff.
